Alfred R. Couchon, 66, of Easthampton died of natural causes in his home on October 1st. He was born in Holyoke, January 16, 1949 the son of Alfred and Faith (Walker) Couchon. He attended local schools and college. Prior to his retirement, he was a self-employed Clinical Psychologist and later employed at Providence Health Care in Holyoke. He was also a graduate professor of Clinical Psychology at American International College in Springfield. Alfred was a US Army Vietnam Veteran.Al loved his family and friends above all and was equally loved back.
His love for fun and adventure as well as his sense of humor and his passion for gardening and nature lives on in his children and grandchildren. Al also enjoyed skiing, traveling, golfing and politics.He is survived by two sons, Christopher Couchon of Deerfield and Daniel Couchon of Easthampton, two daughters, Brenda Walker of GA., and Elizabeth Doherty of Easthampton, two sisters Christine Hopkins of Easthampton and Mikki Seigle, two brothers, Gary Couchon of Easthampton and Robert Rogers of Northampton and three grandchildren, Robbie, Abbey and Nathan. Al was also a caring provider to his 3 step-sons, Jason Bias of Tennesee, Kevin Bias of Chicopee and Kery Hardwick of Northampton, for over 15 years. One brother David Couchon predeceased him.
There will be a memorial service for friends and family at Mitchell’s Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Easthampton from 11am to 1pm on Friday, October 9, followed by graveside services with Military Honors in Brookside Cemetery in Easthampton. www.mitchellcofuneralhome.com Funeral Home
