EFU works so hard to be accepted and no matter how much compensates,
still has some apprehension, self-esteem problems.

basic and contact.
Even a parent may see mostly the behavior of the basic/contact and miss

crystalizes in the basic personality as compensation.
Dynamics take place through effort. When they become the normal response,
then we have compensation.
Never see individual components. To see what is going on in the whole
person (like an engine), we need to know what is going on in the
components (like a carburetor) where in PAS, components are dimensions.
Primitive I (high D) - does well on D due to capacity to deal with
abstract meaningless numbers. To an E, meaningless plus is distracted -
prefers practical concrete reality.
I thinks symbolically. Can be happy with internal activity. Feelings
are obscured. Memory verbal and symbolic. E memory is thing oriented.
So I either gains acceptance for this behavior or placed under
pressure to change. If home for example, parents come home from work and read,
this encourages I. Detachment and inactivity are nurtured. Can be
indifferent and independent. Likes security.
Iu needs protection - does not develop faculties to take care of self.
Yet if the I behavior is not accepted, then pressure to change.
Especially if A qualities, then interacting is important, this also pushes
modified behavior of the I to E behavior. Learns mechanisms to be
outgoing physically active, environmentally dependent. So behaves like E
and acquires values of E.
In order to do that the I has to put behind him many of the qualities of
the previous constellation. If moves to Ic+, due to all the effort,
will feel threatened by things that challenge him to behave like an I.
e.g. when rest of the world is not there to involve with.
Early experience was that showing I self-sufficient etc. brought
grief and punishment so uncomfortable to Ic.

Compensated person resists appeal to act like primitive.
"Soft Compensation" - Scores on for example Arith very low then
clearly uncompensated; very high clearly compensated. But what about scores
in the middle. Some conflict in mid scores. Compensated of both for example
I and E share traits: Tension and then conflict if pressure to express
primitive. Anxious about being the primitive; guilty when expresses primitive.
With "soft compensation", individual can be "switch hitter" - doesn't have
the tension and conflict. Operates somewhat in between. Can be fairly
comfortable as I or E. Problem: Hard compensation has the advantage of
no ambiguity. Soft compensation experiences ambiguity - conflict because does
not know which role to play. Experiences more competition for his activities.
People in the middle (e.g. XYZ - in the middle on primitives). When
have for example Xoo, Is this good or bad? Can be inadequate or borderline
personality. He has all the ingredients to do anything but cannot move off
the middle.
Non-commitment in Xoo etc. makes for superficiality or ambiguity,
especially at higher NL because "everything is there" to function well but
does not.
Iu - introversive personality- leave me alone. Uc so outgoing. Conflict
between Iu and Uc - headaches from social activity.
Ec, Uc+ moving intellectual and social - person knows where he wants to
go in an individual dimension but they are in conflict so have tension.
Can relate well if there is no intellectual need present, and can study like
made if no social demands. But when then come together - conflict.
IF wife needs to relate, she can "dump" and the Uc encourages this, but
violates the Ec.
