Session 5 - Basic Adjustments Review Part 1 - Basic adjustments with "o" and "+"

Review basic level working with o and +

NL is based on weighted scores
by def. weighted scores are mean 10, SD 3
NL is often above IQ because personality tends to be
disruptive to cognitive performance, not enhancing

Example:
14(Eo Rc+ Au)
Socially involved doer. Well organized interacted, not a lot of intellectual
  discipline,
because of responsibility (Rc+) keeps Au from being exploitive
Eo - more I behavior than Eu but not a lot.
More intellectually organized than Eu, but not as organized and quiet as Ec
    No great demonstrable preference.
Gittinger's bias - that 50/50 midpoint is an uncomfortable place to be
    - more comfortable to be fish or fowl than on the fence.
Implication: cannot decide whether to give up E to become more
      I (behaviorally passive, intellectual)
o can be said to be "weak" compensation, but also has idea of
      ambivalence.
e.g. Rc+ is not ambivalent at all about what stance he takes
       in the procedural area
  NL 14 is bright:
if 15 years old, kid bright, socially attractive, has not had to learn
a lot of discipline. Can do OK academically exploiting R and NL.
EA outgoing "halo effect" outgoing attractive.
      Hasn't needed to change much.
but if dealing with a 45 year old man - is not terribly intellectually. disciplined.
Likes the social interaction. Behaviorally active some of the time
      because he likes it.
Not the "watcher" the Ec can be
Rc+ rules for being nice, taking care of people. End effect can be
     very effective.
Rc+ very strong push to acquire F skills.
The R orientation devalued R skills - more than Ro or Rc.
More concerned with F skills - human things people do for each other.
Likely to find complex things interesting
     Exaggerates basic behavior with c+\
Likely to be punishing to R behavior - an Ru person will drive them
       wacky.
Rc+ can be a brake on Au explosiveness - do the right thing as far as
       other people are concerned.

Let's change NL from 14 to 9. What does this do?
NL 14 15 year old - horsepower let person get by.
If an NL 9 15 year old - low average range. Likely reaching limits.
Not chosen an academic intellectual orientation because it is tough and
no one is pushing me to do it.
Good child care worker, aid in nursing home. Interacting in helping ways,
a little thinking, but not too much.
For male, this would be unusual to have Rc+ with Au.
For boy, naive, caring, outgoing, socially effective male.
More specialized for male than female.
Surface is really important for the male.

34 year old male
13(Ic Fc+ A-c)

Basic e* r* u*
Intense individual - under a lot of tension
A lot of self discipline.

IFA tough for male- over approached, narcissism. Very attractive IFA

Focused basic R blocking F tuned in ability

Weak A, but strong achievement
