Surface adjustments part 1

Procedural dimension
Prim: Block Design
Bas:Sim- high sim is basic F

Surface: Comprehension. Complex test statistically
   (Saunders: MOre than one cognitive factor)
   1. Rules of the road for practical living
      eg taxes:Do you know the rules.Can you separate personal values from
         rules, did you hear the question.
   2. Saying mean: (WBG does not have these)
        But is a practical message in each saying.
Essentially comprehension is a set of rules - an R king of task.
  But not imitative like BD. Scored 1,2 0 Broad general answer and more
  specific. F kind of answer is the 2.So have an F quality.

Some think symbols for Comp are illogical: Gittinger - it just grew.

F: 
Fu - Continues F - little organization
Fc: - Stringent - forces people to inhibit some of the strengths of F
     Tougher to acquire and live with.
     Therefore Fc less common.
     (with I/E, more Ic than Iu, more Ec than Eu)
     But more Fu than Fc in our culture.

If ends in c, high comprehension. Overriding thought on comprehension is
practical rules for living.
Fu comfortable with relativistic thinking, nuance. Bring practical thinking
to this diffuse world view. 

Fc brings organization to F but at great cost.

Fuc gets organizational skills on surface but still has big world
  view

Fuc is generally most satisfactory F adjustment.
  Allows individual best utilize F and R skills. Comfortable and effective.
  R on basic level pushes out F 

Fuc+ is a bit compulsive - meticulous about the rules.

(Note: c+ in E/I, a bit obsessive about thinking)

Fuu - comfortable with and exploitive of F at basic level.
  (To be Fu, environment probably provides some organizational skill or
  framework or other dimensions)
  Now Fuu: relativistic, diffuse, global, without much practical judgment.
    Needs someone else to provide practical aspects of living for them.
  Fuu can be political leader with no common sense.  
  Fuu can often be relatively quiet:aesthetic appreciaters. Don't need a big
    scale to be involved. Don't need to be boisterous. Not usually bombastic.
 
Fc difficult - narrowing of scope, focused. Abrupt, unkind, cruel - or at
   least indifferent.
Fcc - humanized the Fc adjustment. Linear and focused - but has
  a practical bent. High comprehension score  makes Fc less stringent. 
  Fcc stolid - sometimes unfeeling, matter of fact.
    Practical to know others' feelings.
    So comfortable being an organized R, that some of the F can come
    through and it is not threatening.
